Julep *Adopted*
Age: 6 years
Sex: Female
Color: Rust & Black
Breed: Domestic Shorthair Mix
Personality Profile: Julep is a sweet six-year-old cat searching for a home of her own. She has the most gorgeous green eyes, and beautiful coloration. Her fur is almost rust-toned, half tabby half tortie, and she loves to be brushed! She also has an adorable beauty mark on her nose. She was dropped off in the night-box at Orange County Animal Control (poor thing). At the time, she was severely over-weight, and we've been working very hard in getting some of the extra pounds off! She's lost about three pounds in the past six months, but still has another few to go. This is not a girl you're going to be able to "free feed." We have strict meal-times and portion sizes, and this seems to work well for Julep. Julep tolerates her fellow foster kitties, but would really rather be an only cat, although she could share her home with another laid-back kitty who didn't mind company of the feline variety. She is very mellow, loving merely to sit in her window seat or curl up on her foster mommy's pillow during the day. She has recently found that she likes to play with toys, too, especially necklaces and loose hair (but don't worry, she's declawed, so you won't lose an eye if she bats playfully at your bangs). She cuddles as close as she can get to her foster mommy every single night, and has the most adorable way of simply placing a paw on your arm if she ever decides she's not getting enough attention. She's really the perfect little lady; very prim and proper. She meows quietly on occasion, but generally just looks at you (she has the most penetrating, intelligent gaze her foster mommy has ever seen in a cat) when she wants something. Overall, Julep is just a delight! To read Julep's blog: go to http://thebiggestloser-felineedition.blogspot.com/2010/06/and-were-off.html
