A family adopted me once, but unfortunately I got into a dispute with another dog and was brought back to P4E. Since my return I have become very reactive with other dogs and strangers. I need a special person who is willing to put in time helping me with these issues. I love all the staff members here because they take really good care of me. On August 8, 2011, I suffered a severe ear infection that triggered some nerve damage, but I have been recovering quite nicely. The staff at Alamance Animal Emergency Hospital took very good care of me, and otherwise I am healthy. I have received two awards from The Northern Centre for Canine Behavior, and I passed the ten requirements of the British Kennel Club Good Citizen Test at the Bronze level on April 22, 2009. I also successfully completed the required certification for scent detection on April 27, 2009. I am house trained, I keep a very neat kennel and I get along with cats. I will need a home with a fenced in yard where I can have a stable and consistent environment and routine. I wouldn’t be a very good fit for someone who travels a lot or has small children. I am very gentle when you get to know me, and I am always on my best behavior when I go to the vet's office. The caring staff has been taking care of me for almost four years and I will always be grateful for their time and patience. It is my turn to go to a forever home where I can chase squirrels in my own back yard. I dream of the day when I can sleep in my own home with my forever family. If I sound like a dog that you would be able to provide for, ask my human staff to introduce us.
