Personality Profile: This happy lady was surrendered to the county shelter because the man who owned her didn't want her anymore, he wanted to get another shepherd and breed it, HOW SAD IS THAT!! Well now Marley is here with us, and she won't have to go through being given up again or ever have babies!! She is very sweet, loving, and gentle girl. She is loyal as shepherd are and wants to be right by your side. She lived in a previous home with kids, and was great. She is excellent with other dogs,and doesn't mind cats a bit. As time goes on we will get more info on here about this new beautiful lady. Her pictures are on the blurry side because she was too busy wagging her tail and play bowing while we trying to do her photo shoot. We will get better pictures up soon as well.

Personality Profile: This gorgeous girl is a joy to be around. Before she came to us at p4e she was a favorite at the Orange County shelter with the staff and volunteers alike. It is impossible to spend time with this big girl and not fall in love. She is excellent on her leash walks, and can go on and on with out getting tired. When she first arrived she had a hysterical "I did my potty and now I'm VERY excited" dance, but since has learned that not everyone likes to do that jig with her. She is wonderful with all the dogs. If they want to romp and go crazy darting around the yard, that's what she is doing. On the other hand if she is out with someone who is just chilling and enjoying the sniffs of the yard, she is content to do that as well. She quickly discovered the puppy pools and jumped in for hours of splashing and diving fun. She apears to be housetrained here, no accidents on the inside or outside of her kennel, and she is a very clean girl.

Personality Profile: She was a wonderful mama dog who raised her beautiful puppies, and they all got adopted. She sat at the county shelter awaiting her new home, and sadly that never happened. Now she is here awaiting her new home. ***UPDATE*** June 29th: My husband & I took Sprinkles to the Durham Bulls baseball game on Sunday as a promotional event for Paws. I am astounded at how well Sprinkles did with ALL of the activity and the heat. She was exceptionally patient & tolerant with tons of very little children who were all over her face and ears! Everyone (big & small!) loved her! I simply don't know why this sweet girl hasn't found her "forever family" yet. She has just mastered "down" & is quite proud of herself! ***Sprinkles is going back to Paws4Ever this Thursday, July 1st so you can go by and meet her, play with her, take her for a walk, and then take her home! *** May: This is Sprinkle's foster mom. I am SO proud of this smart and sweet girl! She is doing great with her leash manners, except for the occasional squirrel or bunny! She now simply ignores the other dogs when they bark at her during our walks. She is amazingly patient and tolerant of little ones. We had a 6 year old house guest for a few days and they got along great! As soon as our guest sat on the floor with her, Sprinkles sat in his lap and licked his face :o). She likes to be busy and LOVES to be outside, on the back deck sunning or taking a walk. If you and/or your family are hikers, walkers, runners, etc., she would love to accompany you! She is VERY affectionate and will stand or sit on me whenever I sit on the floor! After all, I DO exist to pet her, hug her, and tell her how beautiful she is, right?! She is completely house and crate trained and also does not chew on anything, like furniture, electrical cords, etc. Sprinkles is comfortable in the car and she doesn't even ask, "Are we there yet"?!?!? "Wait" is the newest word that she has learned so when the door opens, she waits for me to tell her it's OK to go out. We also "wait" at the side of the road when a car is coming. I was extremely proud of her when we went to an adopt-a-thon this past Saturday. She was a little excited about all of the other dogs and couldn't meet all of them fast enough. But she finally realized that if she laid on her back with her feet in the air, she would get countless belly rubs! She's no dummy! Personality Profile: Oliver looks larger in his picture than he actually is. He only weighs approximately 25 lbs. Oliver is an avid explorer and loves, loves, loves to play. He listens well to come and sit, and while a little rambunctious when first coming indoors he calms down very quickly. Oliver has shown a great love for all toys that squeak and/or bounce. He also has a very cute snore when he sleeps. This little charmer is sure to do great in most any home, he's all too happy to give kisses, play in the yard, or settle in for a nap and a snuggle. Her favorite toy in the world is tennis balls. She loves to chase them around her kennel and in the play yards, and sometimes she likes to walk around with one in her mouth. So I am Herman , single big boy, I'm around a year old, I think I know that I'm not supposed to go potty inside,( that makes a stinky mess), and playing with other dogs is sooooooooooooo much fun. Me and my buddy Marlon love to chase each other around the play yards, and then dive (sometimes I crash) into our pools. It is such great fun. I made friends with most of the dogs here, a boy named Jack doesn't like me, but that's o.k., I still smile at him when he barks his head off at me. I love kids, but the humans told me I am kindy bouncy and may knock a little one down. I would feel horrible if I did that!!! He did a wonderful job visiting the radio station( even though it was totally new to him!) He was a little shy for the first minute or two, but relaxed quickly(treats help). Fred got along with her old, irritable Jack Russell, and he did not bother the (tough) cat next door,either! he learns quickly, he is quiet, and Fred will make a fantastic family dog. Fred is still learning his house-training, so he will need a regular routine for walks and going out, and he may need reassuance when he sees totally new suburban things(such as leaf blowers, bicycles, busses, joggers in pink suits, storm drains, etc). He walks beautifully on a leash, but sometimes he still does silly puppy zig zags. He is clearly a clever dog, learns quickly, and is very eager to stay with his human and pay attention. As big as he is, he has been a gentle giant. He has wonderful leash manners, enjoys playing with tennis balls with his human pals, and so far his favorite thing is a good roll around in the grass. As he improves and is able to start playing with the other dogs, we will update his bio. He still isn't been able to play with the other dogs, but he sure has put some weight on now!! He would much rather be in a home than in a kennel (like all our dogs) but he has a great attitude about it. Since he was in a home, he is acostomed to living in a house, and respecting house rules. He doesn't chew on inapprorate things, and is housetrained. He loves the other dogs here, and never has any grief with anyone, even our bigger dogs!! We don't know what the start of his life was like, and if he could tell us he would. It must of been a rough one, because he can be nervous about strange nosies, and can get spooked out. He was very malnurished when we got him, we could see his hip bones, and count his ribs. When he gets nerovus he gets the most pitaful face and shakes, and waits for one of his human friends to tell him it's ok. Once he realizes it was just a silly noise, he calms back down. He has been getting much better about this, and we believe soon he will be much more confident. He has also been putting some pounds, and looking better every day! He loves playing with most of the female dogs here, but doesn't seem to want to be friends with any of the male dogs. He is learning about house traing and soon he will be 100% there. He is also working on his leash manners, and getting better day by day. He has mastered "sit" and loves to show off how well he knows his new move. Aragon is a dimond in the rough, and will quickly be as distingushed as his name.

Personality Profile: Jabuto is a sweet, sensitive, bumbling puppy. He's a bit shy at first, but warms up quickly. We brought him home thinking our slightly older dog could teach him a thing or two, but we've since learned that Jabuto has more to teach than to learn! This delightful puppy heels naturally; he doesn't pull on his leash at all and is continually checking in with his humans to make sure they're still with him. He learned to "crate up" in a couple of days, and now goes into his crate happily and effortlessly, whether or not there are treats involved :) He loves (LOVES) our cats, although he sometimes doesn't understand how much larger he is, and loves (loves, loves) wrestling with our dog. So far, he's not met a dog (or cat) he didn't like. He'd love to be adopted into a family where he'd have a playmate with a similar (moderate) energy level. He'd probably like to have a yard (he enjoys exploring, but I don't know that he'd want to be left out by himself), but he'd also be fine in a large apartment if there were someone home to spend time with him and take him on a few walks. He's pretty mellow, and doesn't seem to have too much energy to get out. He's a bit hesitant about new places; this boy's a creature of habit. But once you establish that the dog park, or the pet store, or the route around the neighborhood is safe, he's OK from then on. He's not in the least food aggressive (but he does love to eat!) or toy aggressive, rarely barks (although he does make very cute noises which we think sound vaguely like some sort of dinosaur when he plays, or wants a toy), and is friendly albeit reserved toward strangers (this is not a dog that is going to jump all over the company! In fact, he's never jumped on any of us. It doesn't seem like he was very well socialized as a puppy, so while he likes to be near you, and to be petted, Jabuto will probably never plop himself down on your lap; the few times I've tried to get him to sit on my lap, he's looked distinctly uncomfortable. But this is probably a good thing, since he's going to be a pretty big boy!) He is a puppy, and consequently a chewer, but keeping a variety of chew toys (he LOVES bully sticks and, recently, reindeer antlers, which keep him busy for quite some time) around has kept him from sinking his teeth into our furniture. Jabuto is doing great with potty-training, but he still needs to be taken out every couple of hours. Overall, a very sweet, low=maintenance puppy who is sure to be an even more pleasant and less demanding dog.

Personality Profile: Jabuto is a sweet, sensitive, bumbling puppy. He's a bit shy at first, but warms up quickly. We brought him home thinking our slightly older dog could teach him a thing or two, but we've since learned that Jabuto has more to teach than to learn! This delightful puppy heels naturally; he doesn't pull on his leash at all and is continually checking in with his humans to make sure they're still with him. He learned to "crate up" in a couple of days, and now goes into his crate happily and effortlessly, whether or not there are treats involved :) He loves (LOVES) our cats, although he sometimes doesn't understand how much larger he is, and loves (loves, loves) wrestling with our dog. So far, he's not met a dog (or cat) he didn't like. He'd love to be adopted into a family where he'd have a playmate with a similar (moderate) energy level. He'd probably like to have a yard (he enjoys exploring, but I don't know that he'd want to be left out by himself), but he'd also be fine in a large apartment if there were someone home to spend time with him and take him on a few walks. He's pretty mellow, and doesn't seem to have too much energy to get out. He's a bit hesitant about new places; this boy's a creature of habit. But once you establish that the dog park, or the pet store, or the route around the neighborhood is safe, he's OK from then on. He's not in the least food aggressive (but he does love to eat!) or toy aggressive, rarely barks (although he does make very cute noises which we think sound vaguely like some sort of dinosaur when he plays, or wants a toy), and is friendly albeit reserved toward strangers (this is not a dog that is going to jump all over the company! In fact, he's never jumped on any of us.
