Heartworm Awareness Campaign

April is Heartworm Awareness Month. To get ready for this, we need your help. One of the challenges Paws4Ever faces is the growing number of heart-worm positive dogs county shelters receive. The treatment for heart-worm disease is costly, unpleasant for the animals, and preventable. Shown here are just a few of the dogs treated in 2009. Our goal is to provide treatment for those affected, prevention for every dog at the facility, every dog adopted, and education on the importance of this life saving measure.

In order to accomplish this, Paws4Ever is launching a Heartworm Treatment and Prevention campaign with the goal of raising $8,625. This would provide treatment for up to 25 animals, preventative medicines for the dogs at the Adoption Center, and a one month’s supply of heart worm prevention medication to every dog adopted. Additionally, Paws4Ever will provide information to every adopting family about the available heart-worm prevention medications and their importance.

Paws4Ever hopes you will consider being a part of this important effort. Your donation is critical to the success of our campaign so heartworm positive dogs can continue to be pulled from the local shelters. To donate, go to http://www.firstgiving.com/heartwormawareness. Every donation large and small will help the dogs at the adoption center have healthy hearts. We thank you for supporting our efforts to improve the lives of the animals in our community - WE COULD NOT DO IT WITHOUT YOU!
